Conditions of car hire

“Ace Tourist Rentals are a Brisbane based car rental company offering car hire for visitors to the greater Brisbane area including the Sunshine Coast and the Gold Coast”

UNLIMITED KILOMETERS
The rates quoted include UNLIMITED kilometers within the allocated area (see 'Area of Use').

DRIVER’S LICENCE
All drivers should hold a valid full driver's licence (not provisional or learners). Australian, New Zealand, International and Overseas Licenses are acceptable.

ADDITIONAL DRIVER’s
A charge will apply for each additional driver.

RATES
Hirers are reminded that all prices are in Australian dollars and that GST of 10% is included in all prices. Prices may vary without notice due to availability or in peak seasons. However, once you have booked a car your price is fixed. A surcharge of $50.00 applies to cars hired or dropped off on Xmas Day and Good Friday. A surcharge of $30.00 applies to cars hired or dropped off on any Australian public holiday

RENTAL DURATION
Minimum 24 hours from time of pick-up. Additional hours are charged at $10.00 per hour up to 3 hours and a full day thereafter. These rates only apply to notified late returns. Failure to return the vehicle to the nominated return location on the specified date & time, without prior notification, will result in a $75.00 penalty being applied.

AREA OF USE
All vehicles must remain within the following Australian states: Queensland, New South Wales, Australian Capital Territories, Victoria and South Australia.
Should vehicles not remain within the respective areas, all waivers will be void due to breach of contract.


COLLISION DAMAGE WAIVER (CDW)
Standard Cover
All of our cars have full, comprehensive insurance cover included in the daily rate. The amount of the drivers liability on the vehicle is AUD$3,000.00.
You can reduce the amount of the renter's liability by paying a Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) as follows. Should you opt to include a CDW option, we will also waive the AUD$2 per day additional driver charge for 1 additional driver.
Drivers under 25 years of age may choose from the same CDW options however an Under Age Surcharge of $10.00 per day will be applied to the rental agreement.
Smart Choice CDW Option
For drivers aged 21 and over the liability can be lowered down to $1,500 including taxes.
Under the Smart Choice CDW option the liability on single vehicle accidents and vehicle theft remains at $3,000.
Total Cover CDW Option
For drivers aged 21 and over the liability can be lowered down to $0 including taxes, which includes vehicle theft, single vehicle accidents, tyre and windscreen damage.

TYRE & WINDSCREEN PROTECTION (TWP)
This protection covers tyres, punctures, windscreen cracks and replacement screens (excluding People Movers), provided vehicle is used within the terms of the contract. Repairs may only be carried out with the authorisation of Ace Car Rentals. No reimbursement will be made if tyres or windscreens are repaired without written authorisation from Ace Car Rentals.
This protection is available for an additional daily fee. We recommend that this be taken at an additional charge.

EARLY RETURNS
The term of hire shall be for the period of time described in the Agreement. No refund available if vehicle is returned before date shown on contract. (Exceptional circumstances will be considered by Ace Rental Cars Management)

GOODS & SERVICES TAX
Goods and Services Tax (GST) is included in all prices quoted on this Website.

ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE
We provide a complimentary 24-hour vehicle breakdown service through RACQ. A toll free telephone number is provided in our "In car information guide". Please note that a call-out for driver error, i.e. keys locked in car or out of fuel, will incur a AU$65 service fee and any additional costs relating to driver error.

FUEL
Vehicles are supplied full of fuel. If you choose to return the vehicle with less petrol than supplied at the time of Rental, Ace Rentals will provide a re-fuelling service at your expense. This cost will be double the pump price at the Company's nominated fuel provider.

TRAFFIC INFRINGEMENTS
Any traffic infringements incurred during your rental period will incur an administration fee.

STREET DIRECTORIES & MAPS
We provide, with compliments, a street directory covering Gold Coast, Brisbane and Sunshine Coast. A replacement fee will be charged for non return.

GPS NAVIGATION UNITS
GPS Navigation Units are available as an optional extra (minimum 3 day rental). Please note that loss or damage to GPS Unit will result in a $500.00 replacement fee being applied.

PAYMENT
Ace Rental Cars accepts the following methods of payment for the rental of vehicles;

• Cash (Australian Dollars ONLY)
• EFTPOS ( Holders of international cards will need to check validity in Australia)
• Debit Cards
• All Major Credit Cards (Diners Card & American Express attract a 5% surcharge)
• Pre Payment via approved third party agents

SECURITY
All hire's require a security bond to cover the liability in the event the vehicle is damaged. The amount of the authorization will be equal to the liability that the hirer carries with the vehicle (ie: Standard Cover requires $3,000 authorisation). This may be done by either of the following methods;

Credit Card - A pre authorisation will be taken on the hirer's credit card which will ‘freeze’ an amount against the customers available credit. The amount of the pre-authorisation will be equal to the amount of the liability carried on the vehicle, in-line with the selected CDW option. This authorisation will be released by the customers issuing bank in accordance with their own terms & conditions, on conclusion of the rental period.

Debit Card - A pre authorisation will be taken on the hirer's debit card which will 'freeze' an amount against the customers available funds. The amount of the pre-authorisation will be equal to the amount of the liability carried on the vehicle, in-line with the selected CDW option. This authorisation will be released by the customers issuing bank in accordance with their own terms & conditions, on conclusion of the rental period

NOTE: Cash or EFTPOS payments will NOT be accepted as security against the hire of a vehicle.

CANCELLATIONS
Cancellations made within 24 hours of commencement of hire period will incur a penalty fee of one day's rental. If a booking is cancelled the 5% booking deposit will not be refunded. Cancellations where the vehicle collection point was Brisbane, Coolangatta or Maroochydore Airports, will be subject to applicable relocation charges.

BABY SEATS
Please note: If requested, we provide Baby & Booster Seats for rent. Although we supply all attachment items (such as straps & bolts), we DO NOT connect the seats as many of our customers prefer to ensure that their very precious passengers are safely secured. To that end, should you be arriving to a location, such as the Airport, where the vehicle may be left for your collection, then the items will be left on the back seat of the vehicle for you to secure.

ACCIDENT PROCESSING CHARGE
All accidents/damage claims processed by ACE will incur a $75.00 processing charge.
