Credit Reporting - Statement of Notifiable Matters

ABOUT THIS STATEMENT

This statement contains important information on the credit reporting bodies to whom Hertz Australia Pty Ltd ACN 004 407 087 ("we", "our" or "us") discloses your credit information as well as certain rights you have in relation to your credit information.

The way we manage your credit information is governed by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (Privacy Act) and the Privacy (Credit Reporting) Code 2014 (Credit Reporting Code).

CREDIT REPORTING BODIES AND YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

We generally provide commercial credit to approved companies, partnerships and sole traders who apply for a commercial credit account with us. Some of our businesses may also provide consumer credit by deferring payments of their rental charges for 7 days or more.

We may disclose credit related personal information about you to credit reporting bodies. For example, we may do so where you fail to meet your payment obligations in relation to consumer credit, or commit a serious credit infringement in relation to credit provided by us.

The credit reporting bodies we deal with are:

  • Veda Advantage – www.veda.com.au
  • Dun & Bradstreet – www.dnb.com.au
  • Experian – www.experian.com.au

For contact details and further information on how these credit reporting bodies manage credit-related personal information, please refer to their privacy policies at the links above.

Credit reporting bodies may include your credit information in reports that they provide to credit providers to assist those providers to assess your credit worthiness.

Credit reporting bodies offer a service to credit providers known as 'pre-screening' that enables a credit provider to determine whether you are ineligible to direct marketing material about credit offers from that provider, before those offers are sent. You have the right to request that credit reporting bodies not use your personal information for this purpose. To do so, use the contact details on the websites noted above.

You also have the right to request the credit reporting body not to use or disclose your credit reporting information, if you believe on reasonable grounds that you have been, or are likely to be, a victim of fraud.

ACCESS, CORRECTION AND COMPLAINTS

You have the right to request access to the personal information (including credit related personal information) that we hold about you, or seek correction of that information. You also have the right to make a complaint if you consider that we have breached the Privacy Act or the Credit Reporting Code.

Our Credit Policy sets out further information about how we manage your credit information and credit eligibility information. Our Credit Policy is available on our website at
